Lustre Developers

We expect you to work with a leadership facility in super computing that has the largest Lustre file system in the industry. Your duties will include engineering work for fundamental improvements to the Lustre file system as well as supporting an ultra-large installation through analysis of performance of the system and bug fixes.

Requirements:

• A BSc in computer science or a related field
• At least 5 years of Unix kernel or Unix systems programming experience
• At least 3 years of development experience with parallel file systems
• Deep understanding of Unix operating systems
• Creativity and drive to face new problems and resolve them
• Excellent communication skills and a deep passion to work through issues with customers
• Interest and experience in participation in an Open Source community
• Knowledge and experience of following a Software Engineering Process aimed at high quality

File Systems and UI Architects (two positions)

The file systems architect will work in a team of world class architects involved in the requirements analysis, architecture and high level design of a new clustered storage system. The team follows methodologies from the SEI for designing and analyzing a software architecture. Architects will provide leadership and education to implementation teams.

The UI architect will work with customers and other architects to find the optimal workflow and UI to support a great variety of file system and storage management and monitoring requirements.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience with software architecture, demonstrated in production systems
• World class knowledge of file and storage systems internals (file systems architect)
• World class knowledge of browser based UIs (UI architect)
• In depth understanding of requirements, architectural and software design processes
• Excellent presentation and writing skills
• Patience and drive to overcome major intellectual challenges and invent world leading solutions
